CT SCAN: (Allow 1-2 hours for this examination) NOTHING to eat for 4 hours prior to the exam. You may have clear liquids only (water, apple juice). Some patients may need to drink oral contrast. Patients requiring oral contrast must arrive 2 hours prior. Our Radiologists require a minimum of 1 hour rest after the patients have finished drinking their oral contrast to obtain highest quality imaging.
X-Ray: X-ray requires no special preparation. Remove some clothing and/or change into a gown for the examination. Remove jewelry, removable dental appliances, eyeglasses, and any metal objects or clothing that might interfere with the x-ray images.
ECG: Ensure that electronic devices (e.g. smartphone, smartwatch) are removed from the patient. These devices can produce artifacts (interference) and cause problems with the readings.Ensure no jewelry on wrist and neck. Ensure legs are exposed.
